Daily Word: Acceptance

Here is the Daily Word for Wednesday, November 16, 2011. What a powerful affirmation! ♥cap

++++++++++++++++++

Acceptance

I accept and bless myself and others.

Acceptance is a powerful word, for it implies a willingness to listen and be open. Acceptance does not necessarily mean that I adopt another's point of view; it means I accept the right of another to have views different from my own. I accept people of different faiths, cultures and lifestyles. Each person is a child of God--divinely created and divinely guided.

I accept myself as well. I do not judge harshly my past mistakes or perceived short-comings. I give myself the freedom to make mistakes, to have a unique point of view and to continue to learn and grow as a spiritual being. By accepting myself and others, I embrace differences and celebrate the uniqueness of every individual.

Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.--Matthew 7:1

Daily Word: Desires of Your Heart

This was an eye opener for me. Maybe it will be for you as well!

Resurgence

I act on the desires of my heart.

Have I fulfilled my hopes and dreams in life? Am I where I planned to be? Any discontentment I feel with my present circumstances may be an inner nudge to reawaken the desires I have allowed to become dormant. Perhaps now is the time to display my creativity, travel to far-off places or serve God and others in a whole new way. Acknowledging this urge, I allow myself to consider new possibilities. My soul surges as I expand my horizons.

Remaining flexible and open, I don't limit myself to any preconceived ideas of what I can or cannot do. The Spirit within provides all I need to satisfy the longings that once seemed lost, but now are found.

When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, "Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost."--Luke 15:9

Daily Word: Joy

Dear Friends,
I was cleaning out my email inbox today and found this Daily Word from January 8, 2010. Even though it's more than 3 months old, I still need to hear these words--over and over again. Maybe you do as well.

+ + + + + + +

Joy

I am joy in expression.

There is no need to ever wait for joy. My joy does not depend on reaching or achieving certain goals. I don't have to graduate from college to feel joy, nor do I need to be married to feel joy. I needn't postpone my joy until I've retired or reached a certain level of success. Joy is a state of mind, arising from realization and gratitude, accessible to me at all times.

I focus on the joy that underlies my life each day. When I awake, I feel joy. Throughout my day, I give thanks for the people who share my journey. At the end of the day, I am grateful for each experience. I reflect on the blessings in my life and feel joy welling up within me. I never wait for joy. I choose joy in this very moment.

My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy.--James 1:2

Joy

The Holy Spirit is my source of joy forever.

An artesian well is a natural water source that emanates from layers of rock deep within the earth. Without priming or pumping, it sends an ever-flowing supply of cool, refreshing water to the surface. Spirit is an artesian well that fills me with joy, a wellspring of joy from which I may draw at any time. I may experience this joy as profound bliss or a simple awareness of well-being.

If circumstances weigh me down, I go to this well. If I am troubled or hurting, I go to this well. If I am lonely or afraid, I go to this well. There, in quiet prayer, I turn within and experience the cool, refreshing free-flowing Spirit as joy and peace.

The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.--John 4:14

Daily Word: Let Go & Let God

The following was the Daily Word devotional for December 30, 2009. What a valuable lesson as we begin another year. May we all "let go and enjoy the adventure."
Blessings,
Clayton

Let Go, Let God

I let go and let God lead the way.

Winter sports offer an opportunity for fun and adventure. They also illustrate how one might face life's challenges. Observe a group of beginning skiers and their expressions as they ride the lift up the slope. Some may look apprehensive, others excited. Some may be fearful, anticipating a fall. Others are joyous and free, ready to face the slope with confidence.

Which of these two groups of skiers best describes me at this moment? Do I anticipate what might go wrong, or do I greet each situation with expectation of good? Do I let go and let God? On this day, I let go of any fear that may be holding me back. I let go, let God and enjoy the adventure!

You have made me stride freely, and my feet do not slip.--2 Samuel 22:37
