It's a Miracle

Dear Friends,
Since early October 2008, I have not been able to logon to blogspot from my home computer. I couldn't even visit a blogspot site. Whenever I tried, I would get an error message on my computer. I don't claim to be a computer expert. But the only explanation I could find...my computer must be too old. My 2004 eMac running Mac OS 10.3.9 must no longer be compatible with blogspot. (About the same time, I could no longer access YouTube from my home computer, and I suspected it was the same reason.

But tonight--more than 12 months later--as I was doing an internet search to find out how long a baroque trumpet is, the computer took me directly to a blogspot site, and the page opened just fine! I couldn't believe it. What changed? I'm still running the same old software on the same old computer. How did it suddenly start working again? And, how long has this been going on?

I don't know the answers to these questions. But I do know this. If I continue to have access to blogspot at home, you can expect to see more frequent blog entries. I won't have to go to other computers to post on the blog. I can write and post from the comfort of home.

So hip, hip, hooray! Let's hope this is a permanent situation, and not just a temporary glitch in the system! Stay tuned!
Blessings,
Clayton

Blogger Problems

Dear Friends,

To the hundreds of thousands of people who regularly turn to this blog for words of hope, inspiration, and entertainment, I am sorry that I have not posted since August 28. For reasons unknown to me, my home computer (a Macintosh eMac purchased in 2004) no longer allows me to access any "blogspot" pages. Whenever I attempt to go to any blogspot site, whether it's mine or someone else's, I always get an error message. Thus I can't read or post anything on blogspot from my home computer.

I can access blogspot from other computers--at work, the library, etc. (which is what I'm doing now). But since I can't access blogspot from home, that really makes it difficult to regularly blog.

So what is the future of "The Dunger Peak"? Right now, I don't know. I hope one day I can resolve the issue with my home computer. Until then, I'll just post whenever I can using other computers. Even though I may not be able to post very often, I hope all of you will keep checking back to this blog. You never know when a new entry may come your way. And for those of you reading this via Facebook, my entries will continue to be imported whenever I post them.

Thank you for your understanding!
Clayton Peak

Computer Still Broken!

We haven't heard back from the repair shop, yet. Such is the "curse" of owning a Macintosh computer. Macs are great computers and fun to use. However, the number of people who know how to fix them--especially in "Small Town America"--is relatively few. If we had a PC, it probably would have been fixed a long time ago. Oh well, this is a small price to pay for owning what Rebecca and I believe are superior computers! (Sorry PC fans!)
